Hempstone is made from 100% Hemp/Fibres. Made using water in a sustainable process. The material is very strong, has excellent acoustic properties and is eco-friendly.
The material was developed from 1993 and patented in 2000. At this time about 1000 hempstone didgeridoo's were produced in Austria and distributed throughout the world.
The material has only started to be produced commercially since January 2007 after significant development and infrastructure. Various production plants will open throughout the world from 2008, though didgeridoo production will always stay in it's true home of Australia.
